Special thanks to BaT reader Ken L. for this submission!9/28/2009 Update: This truck sold for $17,500 with 4 bidders.9/10/2009 Update: This Volvo has been re-listed here on eBay by the Florida owner who purchased it when we featured it 18 months ago. He claims to have put an impressive 7k miles on it since then. It remains absolutely awesome. We have updated the photo links below.2/29/2008 Update: This Volvo was quickly pulled from eBay after it was sold to a private buyer. From 2/22/2008:This Volvo C303 was imported from Sweden in 2005 as a camouflaged low mileage military unit. It was then painstakingly restored for civilian use and painted inside and out in Mercedes Astral Silver. It looks amazing and is available here on eBay out of Atlanta, Georgia. Based on the early bidding momentum, we think it will quickly meet its Buy-It-Now.This truck is in amazing condition, and it can go anywhere a Mercedes Unimog or Pinzgauer can go. The seller claims it can get to higher freeway speeds as well.Proper taillights were added in the rear and we like the spare tow cable coiled up in the 5th tire. The interior is impeccably restored, with recovered seats and a utilitarian dashboard. The Portal axles are geared down at their ends for better ground clearance and lower crawling ratio. Modern Yokohama tires are mounted all around, and the truck is powered by a 6-cylinder gas engine mid-mounted in the interior of the truck. We think this is likely the only C303 in the USA that is restored to this high civilian standard. The upgrades make the truck very usable and we like the primitive aesthetic. The design is definitely different, and we think it’s different in a good way.Related Stories 83 comments Please observe Bring a Trailer's commenting rules.Jan TrondsenFebruary 25, 2008 at 9:47 am 1 or Flag as not constructive Wow……..almost TOO pretty for wheel’n eh?! I have grown up around FJ40 Landcruisers and friends who love to camp, and overland the occasional boulder laden back road so a truck for me makes sense, but I had recently thought a C303 would work for me, as both a VERY capable FJ companion AND a 125cc shifter kart hauler! AND it’s Scandinavian just like me!Seriosly though, they are smaller and lighter, and perhaps every bit as capable as a “Mog”……..j!95eightyFebruary 25, 2008 at 4:27 pm 0 or
